Why I started Famill
I trained as an accountant. I still run my own small accountancy firm, so I read numbers and risk for a living.
A few years ago I got into property. Like most people, I started with flips.
Then I took on a mentor who worked in social housing. The more I looked into it, the more I thought: this is a way to give back, and to do some good.
Two things kept coming up. Landlords told me, "I just want out. I'm so fed up." And care providers told me they had people to house, and nowhere to put them.
Providers don't want to own houses. It's not their game. Landlords don't want the hassle any more. So we sit in the middle and make it work for both.
I got tired of sending floor plans to providers on WhatsApp. So I built a website where they can see every home we have, with the plans and the terms.
I work hard, and I try to be as open and honest as I can. Not everything goes to plan. When it doesn't, I tell you, and we sort out plan B together.
